Who is Clarence Edwards?

Clarence has more than two decades of experience in analyzing, strategizing, and advocating for policies that will lead to better lives for people in the United States and round the world.

As the Legislative Director for Sustainable Energy and Environment at the Friends Committee on National Legislation in Washington D.C., Clarence currently advocates for policies that will protect both people and the planet. His work focuses advancing policies that will address the climate crisis, protect ecosystems, elevate the voices of marginalized communities, and lay the foundations for a sustainable low carbon economy.

Clarence’s experience in the public policy arena includes advising a start-up focused on innovative climate solutions. He has also represented the policy interests of a foreign government, philanthropic foundations, and nonprofit organizations. His knowledge of politics and the nature of power was shaped by working for the U.S. federal agencies and, at the start of his career, working in the U.S. Congress.
